"Wind turbines do not reduce air pollution. The energy they yield displaces hydro and nuclear power, and requires additional natural gas generating capacity to handle fluctuating power levels, yielding net increases in system-wide emissions. Also, the pursuit of wind power is raising our electricity rates to some of the highest levels in North America, leading to industrial job losses and higher utility bills for Ontario households. Economic stress negatively impacts the health of families and communities. On balance, wind turbines are a threat, not a benefit, to public health in Ontario."
